Legendary surf guitar pioneer Dick Dale has died at age 81. Dale, who was best remembered for songs such as “Miserlou” and “Let’s Go Trippin’,” was a grassroots Southern California hero in the late-1950’s drawing record breaking crowds at such early stomping grounds such as Newport Beach’s Rendezvous Ballroom.
