BRIAN WILSON: BACK ON THE ROAD, PLOTTING NEXT TWO ALBUMS

Brian Wilson is already thinking about his next two solo studio sets. The Beach Boys co-founder is currently out on the road touring behind the group’s 1966 masterpiece Pet Sounds with fellow group members Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin. Wilson spoke about his love for his longtime touring ensemble, telling The Observer: “It’s been (almost) 20 years since we first started touring again. . .  We’ve had a lot of practice and became better players than we were back then. I like playing with my band more than I liked playing with the Beach Boys, because they’re younger and they’re better players.”

Wilson, who earned raves for his recent memoir, I Am Brian Wilson, reflected on the book, explaining, “I told the truth, the whole story of my life. It was all about how I learned to make music and the history of the Beach Boys.” Wilson went on to give fans a taste of what he’s planning for his next set of sessions: “When we end this tour I’m going to go into the studio and make a rock ‘n’ roll album! . .  The album I’m about to do is going to be a great rock ‘n’ roll album about all the great rock ‘n’ roll artists of our time. After that album. I will probably make another record called Brian Wilson Sings the Ballads.”
