TIMOTHY B. SCHMIT ‘SWORN TO SECRECY’ REGARDING UPCOMING EAGLES SHOWS

How are the upcoming Eagles shows going to play out without the bands co-founding leader Glenn Frey??? Well, according to bassist Timothy B. Schmit — mums the word. Schmit — who just kicked off a set of dates behind his recent solo album, Leap Of Faith — chatted with Cleveland’s The Plain Dealer, and was asked who, if anyone, will be filling in for Frey at this summer’s Classic East/West stadium shows in L.A. and New York City, to which the bassist replied: “I can’t tell you. I’m sworn to secrecy.” It’s unclear whether Jackson Browne will sub for Frey at the high profile concerts, or whether Frey’s 23-year-old musician son Deacon will fill in. Don Henley first mentioned Deacon as a possible performer should the band ever perform again, but quickly recanted.

Schmit went on to talk about the loss of Frey, who died on January 18th, 2016 at age 67, due to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia. He explained, “As time goes by, it sinks in more and more and it becomes a little more settled. It’s a tragedy, but it just was and is. Life goes on, and it’s been long enough now that we can sort of reorganize. . . Don (Henley) also said we would never re-form after we broke up the first time. Then we went on to play for 21 more years.”
