Welcome the holiday season with a local tradition at the Centre Furnace Mansion! Over 50 regional fine artists, antique dealers, crafters and dedicated Historical Society volunteers have been working year round planning and preparing for the Stocking Stuffer. Proceeds from this annual fundraiser benefit the Centre County Historical Society to support its preservation and public programming efforts. You may know a child who has been on a school field trip to the Centre Furnace Mansion or Boogersburg School and brought home a story about days gone by. Or perhaps you have brought guests for a tour of the period decorated ironmasters Mansion. Maybe you’ve attended one of our several public history programs that highlight the stories of Centre County or historic preservation, listened to one of Katie O’Toole’s new “Dead Centre” series podcasts, or utilized the Historical Society’s archive collections for research.
By attending and doing some of your holiday shopping at the Stocking Stuffer sale, you support these efforts this holiday season and, in turn, support the work of area artists and businesses. When you have finished your shopping, enjoy hot cider and delicious holiday cookies to get you in the holiday spirit from the generous donations of local bakers and restaurants. Whether a new or returning shopper, our vendors provide a variety of new and exciting items each year!
Just in time for the Stocking Stuffer, Centre Furnace Mansion’s dining room, grand front hall and parlors will be festively decorated for the holiday season through the generosity of some of Centre County’s finest florists: Avant Garden, Daniel Vaughn Design, and Woodrings Floral Gardens. Boughs, berries, bulbs and bows will bedeck the Mansion’s exterior and Hearth Room contributed by Tait Farm Christmas Trees and our talented Centre Furnace Mansion Gardeners.
Some of the sales offerings include: Holiday wreaths and swags prepared by the Centre Furnace Mansion Gardeners, ceramics, fine paper arts, pewter, books, decorative soaps, china and glassware, antiques and vintage collectibles, linens, needlework, photography, jewelry, something for everyone.
