Come and join Greenwood Furnace State Park for a program on solar observation on March 17 beginning at 2:00 pm at the Visitor Center. For the inhabitants of Earth, the sun is our most important star in the universe. Even though its intense light warms us and is the engine of life, it can blind you if you look at it directly. It is possible, however, to observe sunspots, solar flares, and other features of the sun in complete safety. This program will instruct you on how to safely observe the sun, some sun trivia, and weather permitting, we will do some sun observing.
For information about this and other park programs can be found on the park’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/greenwoodfurn or on the Calendar of Events at the State Parks website at www.visitPAparks.com.
