The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is moving its Thrift Store to a larger location in December, and as a result, is in need of more volunteers. Volunteering in the Thrift Store is rewarding, easy from a physical standpoint, and fun—there is a lot of camaraderie in the donations and sorting rooms! These sessions introduce prospective volunteers to the opportunities and incentives of volunteering at the Thrift Store.
The Thrift Store provides much needed funds for the Society’s mission to serve the poor in our community, which offers assistance to more than 1,800 adults and children every year—in the last twelve months, the Society has provided nearly $150,000 in aid.
The new Volunteer Training Session will start at 4:00 pm in our current location, 526 Westerly Parkway Plaza. Sessions run about an hour and 15 minutes. Prospective volunteers should attend one of these sessions, even if they don’t plan to start volunteering until we are in our new store.
